IG Society, Inc. (“IgNS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a professional organization dedicated to healthcare professionals in education, management, practice, and research in the field of immunoglobulin (Ig) therapy. 

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you when you interact with us online and offline, including when you visit our website at http://www.ig-ns.org/ (the “Site”), become a member, register for conferences or other events, subscribe to communications, participate in surveys or research activities, or otherwise engage with IgNS (collectively, the “Services”).

We share Personal Information with vendors who perform services for us, such as website hosting, IT support, security, email distribution, event management, learning platforms, payment processing, analytics, and professional advisors. Service providers are authorized to access Personal Information only as needed to perform services for IgNS and are required to protect it and use it only for permitted purposes.

We may share information with affiliated entities or strategic partners where necessary to provide the Services or operate IgNS programs, subject to appropriate protections. 

C. Sponsors and sponsored activities 

Some IgNS programs (for example, sponsored webinars, surveys, advisory activities, or sponsored events) may involve corporate sponsors or partners. 

  • Aggregated or de-identified sharing: We may share aggregated or de-identified insights and reporting with sponsors or partners. 
  • Identifiable sharing: If a program involves sharing your identifiable information with a sponsor or partner, we will provide notice at or before the time of collection and obtain consent where required by law. 

D. Legal, safety, and rights-protection 

We may disclose information as necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful process or government requests, protect the rights, privacy, safety, or property of IgNS, our members, Site visitors, or others, prevent fraud or security issues, and enforce our agreements and policies. 

E. Business transfers 

If IgNS is involved in a reorganization, merger, acquisition, financing, dissolution, or sale/transfer of assets, Personal Information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate confidentiality protections.

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and web beacons) to operate the Site, remember preferences, understand how the Site is used, and improve performance.

Participation in surveys, research activities, or advisory programs is voluntary. Where a program involves sponsor access to identifiable information, we will provide notice and choices at the time.

9. Privacy Rights and Requests 

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your Personal Information. These may include the right to:

  • Correct inaccurate Personal Information. 
  • Delete your Personal Information, subject to legal exceptions. 
  • Obtain a copy of certain Personal Information (data portability), where applicable. 
  • Opt out of certain processing (such as targeted advertising, sale/sharing as defined by applicable law, or certain profiling), where applicable.

IgNS is based in the United States. If you access the Site or Services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other locations where IgNS or our service providers operate. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers. 

11. Data Retention 

We retain Personal Information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain membership and program records, comply with legal, tax, accounting, and reporting requirements, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain security. Retention periods vary based on the type of information and the purposes for which it is processed.

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect Personal Information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us using the information in Section 1.

The Site may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit. 

14. Children’s Privacy 

The Site and Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided Personal Information to us, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps. 

15. Updates to This Privacy Policy 

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top indicates when this Privacy Policy was most recently revised. Changes become effective when we post the updated Privacy Policy.
