Target Audience
This activity is intended for pharmacists and nurses who care for patients with Kawasaki disease.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Explain the role of IgE and Th2 immunity for protection of the fetus and the mother during the pregnancy, and preparation of the post-partum baby for anti-parasitic protection, and subsequent antibody production
  • Discuss the role of IgE and Mast cells in allergic disease, usurped from their role for anti-parasitic protection
  • Distinguish True Allergic Disease from Pseudo-Allergic Manifestations
