Dr. Hernandez-Trujillo graduated from Miami Children™s Hospital pediatric resident program. She also trained at the Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Training Program at the University of Tennessee/ Le Bonheur Children™s Hospital/St Jude Children™s Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee. She has been the Director of the Division of Allergy and Immunology at Miami Children™s Hospital/ Nicklaus Children™s Hospital since January 2008. She is also the training program director for the Allergy/Immunology Fellowship program at Nicklaus Children™s Hospital. Dr. Hernandez-Trujillo has conducted basic laboratory research on B cell disorders and agammaglobulinemia. Her research and interest are in the areas of food allergy, anaphylaxis and primary Immunodeficiency disorders, in particular hypogammaglobulinemia, agammaglobulinemia, XLA and DiGeorge syndrome. She is interested in the quality of life in patients with primary immunodeficiency disease. She is completing a comprehensive study on XLA patients.
