Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) has been shown to be effective in the treatment for autoimmune blistering diseases like pemphigus vulgaris and bullous pemphigoid. While the precise mechanism of action is unknown, high-dose IVIg can be effective in achieving and maintaining remission in these disorders. This session describes the different types of autoimmune blistering diseases and the available treatment modalities for patients.
